Launching soonWe’re getting ready to launch in autumn to winter 2026, and we’ll share dates here as they’re confirmed.

Volunteer

At the start, a few reliable volunteers will make more difference than anything else. You don't need any particular experience, just some time and a friendly manner.

Ways to help

Gatherings

Setting up, welcoming people, making the tea, and helping gatherings feel comfortable.

Outreach

Talking to churches, clubs and local groups, and helping us find older Irish residents who'd like to come along.

Befriending, later

Phone calls and visits come later, once our safeguarding policy is in place and volunteers have DBS checks.

Looking after volunteers

Before anyone starts, we’ll have a safeguarding policy, a friendly induction and clear role descriptions in place. Anyone in a role with direct contact will have a DBS check first. Volunteer training is planned for four to six months after launch.
