Launching soonWe’re getting ready to launch in autumn to winter 2026, and we’ll share dates here as they’re confirmed.

What we'll do

Our mission, the three aims behind it, and the four areas of work we'll build up over time.

Our mission

To support elderly Irish people across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire through companionship, practical support, cultural connection, and community outreach.

Our aims

Everything we do comes back to these three.

  1. 1

    Reduce loneliness

Regular phone calls, visits, and get-togethers for people who would like more company.

  2. 2

    Support wellbeing

Help finding the right local services, and a hand with everyday things.

  3. 3

    Preserve identity

Keeping Irish music, stories, and faith part of people's lives.

Four areas of work

We’ll start small with gatherings and add the rest as volunteers are trained and checks are in place.

Companionship

Regular gatherings, and later phone calls and visits, for people who'd like more company.

When each part starts

The plans set out what comes first and roughly when, from the first gatherings to a befriending network in year two.
